Awesome Fun Day at Hayes Country Park
Maurice Sines and James Crickmore are the co founders of Brighter Sines, an organization that runs fun day events.
On Saturday 28th
September, with their support and hosting, Brighter Sines held a fun day at Hayes
Country Park. The park is well set with Waterside Park and a very inviting
country side. It has several onsite facilities. Its located just 5 minutes
drive away from Woodham Ferrers and is next to the historic Chelmsford.
On such a day there
are usually various events such as the Cash Grabber challenge, Bungee Run
Inflatable, Penalty Shoot Out among many. We had quite a
good number of fun events at Hayes Country Park. There were expectedly Food
Court and children’s activities to occupy people till the main event, the big
amazing traditional “hounds and hare” balloon race, with the big balloon being
the perfect hare.
With just over
60 tickets sold, Maurice Fred Sines and James Crickmore, the co founders of
BrighterSines, had the pleasure of releasing the balloons at 4pm on the day. The big balloon was, as the rule, given a short
head start. In a few minutes, the 60 smaller balloons started going after it.
The objective of the race is to tag along the big
balloons course and after it lands, drop a bag of birdseed as close to the
landing point as possible. The one who gets closest to the big balloon is the
winner of the race.
After a lot of
anticipation the participants started streaming back.
And out of the 60,
Barbara Woods was lucky to be declared the event champion.
She was awarded
a cash prize of Fifty pounds, money that she happily decided to split between
her two lovely grand children.
